It's in his blood.

Ever since Uncle Chris gave Colin his own little set of hockey sticks and net for Christmas, he has been pretty obsessed with hockey. "Hockey!" he yells, when he sees it on TV. "Hockey!" he exclaimed, when he saw a Sabres jersey hanging on the wall in the resturaunt we went to for lunch yesterday (how he knew it was a hockey jersey, I have no idea). He cried like his feelings were hurt when my brother packed up his hockey bag and left to go play in his men's leauge game the other night. Several times of day we have to play hockey with him, shotting the little foam ball back and forth across the carpet. And man, this kid has quite the shot!
So you can imagine how estatic he was when Uncle Chris found one of his old helmets in the basement and gave it to him. He loves wearing it, and quite honestly, I'm a little suprised because that thing can't be too comfortable, seeing that it is a little too big.
His latest request: "ice skates!"

Spring?

Well, it's spring in Rochester, but certainly doesn't feel like it! Colin and I headed outside today to play in the SNOW! I know it's typical here to have very unpredictable weather, especially this time of year, and I should be used to it by now since I've lived here for most of my life...but c'mon.
Well, at least it was sunny! And more importantly, Colin had a good time...even though he keeps bringing up Christmas, Santa, and penguins. I think he's a tad confused.

Yup buddy, there it is. The cold white stuff is back again.

 Running around like maniacs.

Colin's first snow angel!

Might as well break out the sled.

Colin's first snowman!

Yup. Your eyes are not deceiving you. Lucy seriously just swiped poor Frosty's arm.

A shorter arm thanks to Lucy, but still a pretty cute snowman!

Speaking of swiping, while I was performing Frosty's operation, Colin swiped Uncle Chris' hockey stick from the porch.

Happy spring everyone!

Even Justin Bieber was there...probably to cheer Emily on.

Slainte!

Lucky for Colin and I, our St. Patrick's Day festivities are extra special, because we get to celebrate two very special birthdays!

Last week was Grandma Patty's birthday!
We had an awesome brunch at the Archers, and she got to spend the afternoon with her three most favorite little leprechans...

Enjoying the boys.

Mark this one in the baby book...Colin's first ever Shamrock Shake!

Happy birthday Grandma Patty!

My Grandma's birthday is on St. Patrick's Day...so does this make me a little bit Irish?! Today Colin and I went to see her and brought a birthday lunch, with a Shamrock Shake for dessert! It was her and my Grandpa's first time having one, and I think they enjoyed it as much as Colin did.

Then we headed outside on a nice, pre-spring Rochester day.
The trees are starting to bud! Break out the flip flops, people!

Happy Birthday (great) Grandma Mille!

To the Birthday Girls:
May your thoughts be as glad as the shamrocks
May your heart be as light as a song
May each day bring you bright, happy hours
That stay with you all the year long

Sweet Tooth?

With an array of healthy plastic food choices available, our child decides to fry a cookie and a donut.
Grandma Donna, is this your doing??

Friends!

It's safe to say that Colin has the best little posse of friends here. He loves his friends! Not a day goes by that he doesn't talk about them, usually with a big smile on his face. And let me tell you, these kids are sweet, happy, fun, and cuuuute!
One friend that is always a topic of conversation is Gavin. We just love Gavin (and his family too!). I knew this kid had to be alright from the get-go, because he was born in Buffalo. Haha! But in all seriousness, it just warms my heart seeing these two little boys together. SO sweet. We met up at the park today, and the buddies got their fair share of exercise and fresh air.
Just what every boy needs, right?

Thanks to Gavin's Mommy, I got to make an appearance too...

Poor Sick Boy.

I think day 5 of Colin's sickness was at its worst today. But he does have quite the set-up, doesn't he? He requested water in his baseball cup, apple juice, peanut butter crackers, his penguin pillow pet, his froggy, and a Dora on TV. Anything for you, buddy.
After I took this, he said in a most pitiful sick stuffed up voice, "Cheese Mama".

A day at home.

Colin has been under the weather with a cold and fever, so today we just took it easy and enjoyed a day at home.

Making a picture for Daddy with his stamps

This child could live outdoors, so when he's sick it's no exception. We both got a dose of much needed fresh air. And Lucy finally got some company outside, even if that company threw balls at her every few seconds.

"A Bird!"

"A Plane! Daddy!"

Off he goes...

A nose running like a faucet, but he's still loving life.

A slide before heading in for dinner. Carrie, do his shoes look familiar?
When Colin puts them on, he says "Jack's shoes!"
